ArriVent Announces Cancer Cell Publication Highlighting Firmonertinib in EGFR PACC-Mutant NSCLC
NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA, USA - ArriVent BioPharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVBP) announced the publication of FURTHER Phase 1b results of firmonertinib in Cancer Cell, highlighting preclinical and clinical findings supporting its potential as the first oral, chemotherapy-free targeted therapy for treatment-naive patients with advanced EGFR PACC-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
EGFR PACC-mutant NSCLC represents approximately 12 percent of EGFR-mutant tumors and currently lacks an established targeted standard of care. The publication demonstrates that firmonertinib's unique molecular structure fits EGFR PACC mutations well, offering potential high anti-tumor activity and robust clinical responses in this underserved patient population.
Key Highlights
- Enhanced in vitro potency vs. osimertinib: Firmonertinib's unique trifluoroethoxy side chain creates additional contact points for binding to PACC-mutated EGFR's kinase domain.
- Robust, durable clinical activity: 43 percent and 68 percent confirmed overall response rate (ORR), with 11.1- and 16.0-months median progression free survival, respectively.
- Meaningful intracranial activity: 47 percent confirmed intracranial ORR among patients with baseline brain metastases.
- ctDNA clearance: Correlated strongly with complete molecular response, higher ORR, and longer median progression-free survival.
