Deep Fission and Youngquist Brothers Partner for Underground Nuclear Reactor Drilling
Fort Myers, Fla. - Deep Fission, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISN), an advanced nuclear energy company focused on placing small modular pressurized water reactors approximately one mile underground, has announced a strategic collaboration with Youngquist Brothers, LLC. The partnership aims to evaluate and test advanced drilling and borehole-construction methods for Deep Fission's unique underground reactor deployment model.
Under the agreement, both companies will work together to develop large-diameter, deep boreholes utilizing Youngquist's extensive drilling expertise. Recently, the partners successfully completed an equipment demonstration in Fort Myers, Florida, where Deep Fission lowered and retrieved a 30-inch full-size prototype reactor canister into a 34-inch borehole at a depth of approximately 100 feet. This test validated crucial installation and retrieval mechanics.

Youngquist Brothers brings decades of experience in large-diameter drilling, having reached depths exceeding 8,000 feet since 1971. This collaboration allows Deep Fission to leverage established commercial drilling techniques and existing field equipment rather than building infrastructure from scratch.
