Elmet Group Acquires ams OSRAM Schwabmunchen Operations

Portland, Maine - The Elmet Group Co. (NASDAQ: ELMT), a US-based provider of precision-engineered components and advanced high-energy systems, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the tungsten and molybdenum manufacturing operations of ams OSRAM in Schwabmunchen, Bavaria, Germany through its newly formed German subsidiary, Elmet Technologies GmbH.

The strategic acquisition establishes Elmet's first manufacturing footprint in the European Union, creating a local production base for refractory metal powders, rods, wire, electrodes, and machined components. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, pending customary regulatory approvals and transition completions.

The Schwabmünchen site covers approximately 26,800 square meters and provides a vertically integrated value chain from powder formation through pressing, sintering, swaging, drawing, and finishing. The acquisition extends Elmet's manufacturing model into Europe, enabling better service for regional customers in defense, fusion research, semiconductors, medical, automotive, and industrial sectors.
