EM&T to Host Operational Showcase of Rare Earth Magnet Facility in South Korea
Miami, FL, USA - Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq: EMAT) announced that the company will host a public operational showcase and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its flagship high-performance rare earth magnet facility in Pohang, South Korea, on December 17, 2026. The facility currently operates as the largest of its kind outside of China and serves as the foundation for the company's planned expansion to over 10,000 metric tons of annual production capacity.
The event is strategically timed ahead of the January 1, 2027 implementation of DFARS 252.225-7052, which restricts Chinese-origin rare earth magnets in qualifying United States defense systems. Additionally, the showcase follows recent U.S. regulatory measures regarding sensitive foreign unmanned aircraft and components, highlighting the growing demand for secure, non-China supply chains across defense, drone, and automotive markets.
Key Highlights
- Showcase of the largest high-performance rare earth magnet facility outside China in Pohang, South Korea.
- Phased expansion targeting over 10,000 metric tons of annual production capacity.
- Positioned to meet impending DFARS sourcing restrictions effective January 1, 2027.
- Live production tours, magnet-making demonstrations, and strategic partnership discussions with defense and automotive leaders.
