Freenome Launches SimpleScreen Lung Test and Combined Colorectal Cancer Screening Option

BRISBANE, Calif., USA -- Freenome, Inc. (Nasdaq: FRNM), an early cancer detection company, announced the launch of the SimpleScreen Lung test alongside a first-of-its-kind offering that allows eligible patients to be screened for both lung and colorectal cancer (CRC) through a single blood draw. The company's Personalized Cancer Detection (PCD) approach combines risk-based screening with indication-specific tests tailored to individual patient needs.

SimpleScreen Lung is designed for adults aged 50 to 80 with a significant smoking history who are not currently up to date with standard-of-care screening. It can be ordered independently or combined with the FDA-approved SimpleScreen CRC test for patients eligible for both screenings.

Key Highlights

  • SimpleScreen Lung demonstrated 85% sensitivity at 50% specificity and a 99.8% negative predictive value in an independent validation cohort.
  • The dual-screening option enables patients to address multiple cancer screening requirements in a single clinical encounter, aiming to improve overall participation rates.
  • SimpleScreen CRC is FDA-approved for average-risk adults aged 45 and older.
