IMC Rare Earths Announces High-Grade Yttrium Discoveries in Brazil
SAO PAULO, October 29, 2026 -- IMC Rare Earths Ltd (NYSE American: IMC) announced two high-grade yttrium-rich discoveries at its Itarantim ionic adsorption clay rare earth project in Brazil. The exploration results include a shallow intersection at Block H and a mineralized intersection at Block D, highlighting significant potential for yttrium supply.
Key Highlights
- Block H shallow discovery: Intersected 7 meters grading 2,052 ppm yttrium oxide from just 2 meters below the surface, including a peak sample of 3,099 ppm.
- Block D mineralization: Returned 13 meters at 1,287 ppm yttrium oxide starting from 14 meters depth, remaining mineralized at the end of the hole.
- High yttrium share: Yttrium accounts for 36% of rare earth content at Block H and 26% at Block D, significantly higher than the 10% average across the drilling database.
Chief Executive Officer and Chair Frank Scolaro noted that these discoveries could shape the company's ultimate product mix, adding yttrium alongside dysprosium and terbium. Further drilling and metallurgical work at ANSTO in Australia are planned to test extraction performance and define the extent of these zones.
