Pony AI Robotaxi Permit in Luxembourg, Expands to Europe

New York, April 3, 2025—Pony AI Inc. (Nasdaq: PONY) has received a permit from Luxembourg’s Ministry of Mobility and Public Works to begin Level 4 (L4) Robotaxi testing. This marks Pony.ai's establishment of its first European research and testing hub in Luxembourg.

Pony.ai’s autonomous vehicle testing will be conducted in partnership with Emile Weber, a mobility solutions provider in Luxembourg. The collaboration combines Pony.ai’s technology with Emile Weber’s transportation expertise.

Dr. James Peng, Co-founder and CEO of Pony.ai, stated that Luxembourg offers an ideal environment for their European operations due to its central location, regulatory framework, and commitment to innovation in mobility. He also acknowledged Emile Weber for providing local expertise.

Luxembourg’s Minister for Mobility and Public Works, Yuriko Backes, noted that the testing permit marks an important milestone for the future of mobility and that the government supports companies like Pony.ai in their quest for new technologies.
