SpyGlass Pharma Reports Positive 12-Month Phase 1/2 Trial Results for BIM-IOL System
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. SpyGlass Pharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: SGP) announced positive 12-month results from its Phase 1/2 trial for the Bimatoprost Drug Pad-IOL System (BIM-IOL System). This innovative system is designed for treating elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma (OAG) or ocular hypertension (OHT) who also have a cataract.
The trial involved 104 patients randomized into three groups: 78 mcg BIM-IOL System, 39 mcg BIM-IOL System, and a control group receiving a standard monofocal IOL with timolol eye drops. Patients in the BIM-IOL groups received daily artificial tear drops, while the control group used timolol eye drops twice daily.
