ROCKVILLE, Md., X-Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: XE), a leader in advanced nuclear reactor technology, has announced its financial and operational results for the first quarter of 2026. This marks the company's first earnings report as a publicly traded entity, following the successful completion of its IPO in April 2026, which raised approximately $1.1 billion in net proceeds.

Financial Highlights

  • Total revenues and grant income reached $43.4 million, a 109% increase compared to 1Q 2025.
  • Total operating expenses were $109.5 million, reflecting significant investment in direct costs and personnel.
  • The company reported net cash used in operating activities of $67.3 million.
  • Total liquidity as of March 31, 2026, stood at $944.0 million.

Operational Progress and Strategic Updates

X-energy continues to advance its Xe-100 high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) and TRISO-X fuel technology. Key milestones include receiving a Part 70 fuel fabrication license from the NRC and obtaining a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) regarding the environmental assessment for Dow's project in Seadrift, Texas.

The company also expanded its commercial reach through several strategic moves: an application to enter the U.K.'s Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process, a graphite supply agreement with SGL Carbon, a memorandum of understanding with IHI Corporation, and collaborations with LG&E, KU, and Talen Energy to explore SMR deployment. Vertical construction for the TX-1 fuel facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, remains on schedule for completion by the first half of 2028.

About X-Energy, Inc.

X-energy is a leading designer of advanced nuclear reactor technology (commonly referred to as small modular reactors, “SMRs”) and manufacturer of advanced nuclear fuels. We believe these scalable, power generation technologies help satisfy historically unprecedented electricity demand growth, driven by the development of AI and associated data center infrastructure. Total demand for new electricity generation is expected to increase globally by 7,626 TWh from 2023 to 2030 and the challenges associated with meeting this demand have led policymakers and industry leaders to recognize nuclear energy, particularly advanced nuclear, as a key component to address this need.
